My Tatting

I will be traveling on November to visit my grandmother, until then I have been practicing my tatting so that I am ready for more advanced classes with her.  I decided to create this new page on my blog to post pictures of my work as I continue to learn, please note that I am still a beginner, so don't expect to be impressed :)

I will create a new page in the next couple of days with links for tutorials and other useful resources for tatters of all levels!

Colorful Doilies

I have been practicing my tatting for a while now, I find it extremely relaxing and fun. The following are two doilies I made following the pattern in one of the doilies Ceci made for my mom.

TAT This! Challenge
I came across a great blog about tatting: tattingfool.blogspot.com where a challenge was posted to create a nice little doily.

I decided to work on this doily, which would actually be my very first doily.

I love the outcome and feel very proud of actually finishing the doily. As you can see I need to work on getting the chains more even, but I guess that will come with practice.

  1. You've done a beautiful job! Congratulations on your first doily! I will post the link on my blog in the morning.

I poked around your blog a bit, too. You have a really impressive collection of shuttles. I'm so glad you're learning to use them!
